What are the factors and properties that affect silicone products?

Time:2024-05-17 Views:246
Processing works with silica gel as the main raw material are all called silica gel products. Silica gel is a porous material with different particle sizes formed by proper dehydration of silicic acid gel. It has an open porous structure and can absorb many substances. It is a good desiccant, adsorbent and catalyst carrier for silica gel products. What factors affect the performance of silica gel products.

1. Viscosity, technical term explanation: The volume characteristic of a liquid, quasi liquid or quasi solid substance that resists flow, that is, the internal friction or flow resistance between molecules when silicone buttons flow under external forces. Generally, viscosity is directly proportional to hardness.

2. Hardness, the ability of a material to resist hard objects pressing into its surface locally, is called hardness. Silicone rubber has a hardness range of 10 to 80 sealing rings, which gives designers sufficient freedom to choose the required hardness to achieve specific functions. Mixing polymer substrates, fillers, and additives in different proportions can achieve various intermediate hardness liquid silicone values. Similarly, the time and temperature of heating and curing can also change the hardness without damaging other physical characteristics.

3. Tensile strength, silicone product factory tensile strength refers to the force required per unit to cause a rubber material sample to tear. The tensile strength range of hot vulcanized solid organic silicone rubber is between 4.0 and 12.5 MPa, the tensile strength range of fluorosilicone rubber is between 8.7 and 12.1 MPa, and the tensile strength range of liquid silicone rubber is between 3.6 and 11.0 MPa.

Some properties of silicone rubber products:

1. High temperature performance. The prominent feature of silicone rubber products is high temperature stability. Although the strength of silicone rubber at room temperature is only half of that of natural sealing rubber or some synthetic rubber, it can still maintain a certain degree of flexibility, resilience, and surface hardness in high temperature environments above 200 ℃, and there is no significant change in mechanical properties.

2. The glass transition temperature of silicone rubber products with low temperature performance is generally -70~-50 ℃, and special formulas can reach -100 ℃, indicating excellent low temperature performance, which is of great significance to the aviation and aerospace industry.

3. The Si-O-Si rubber key in weather resistant silicone rubber is very stable to oxygen, ozone, and ultraviolet rays. Without any additives, it has excellent weather resistance.

4. Electrical performance: Silicone rubber has excellent insulation performance, as well as excellent resistance to corona and arc.
