Some consumers find that the edges of silicone products are damaged and cracked after purchasing them, which often confuses many friends and leads to a lack of awareness and purchase rate for silicone products. So what are the main reasons for the phenomenon of silicone product edge explosion?

The explosion of silicone products may be caused by various factors.

The issue of raw materials is an important factor. During the rubber mixing process, excessive addition of peroxides may lead to rapid surface vulcanization of silicone products, while the interior is not fully vulcanized. This will cause the product to experience edge explosion at the molding line due to thermal expansion and contraction during demolding. Therefore, reducing the amount of peroxide added and achieving sufficient vulcanization molding of both the interior and exterior of silicone products is the key to solving this problem.

Secondly, hardness issues may also lead to edge explosion. Low hardness silicone products are more likely to have explosive edges during the production process. This may be related to the configuration of parameters such as machine temperature and secondary exhaust. Therefore, establishing reasonable mechanical parameters, controlling the vulcanization temperature and time, ensuring that the raw materials are formed and processed during the curing stage, and avoiding the expansion of the raw materials due to excessive time are important measures to reduce the phenomenon of edge explosion.
